We're run by Fine Entertainments Ltd and we book booths from trusted partners. You tell us the venue and the date, and we come back with what's free and a price, usually the same day.
College venues have their own rules
Colleges tend to be careful about outside suppliers. Expect to be asked for public liability insurance, PAT test certificates for anything that plugs in, and sometimes a risk assessment. A good partner will have these ready, and we'll pass them straight to whoever's asking.
Downing College on Regent Street has its own conference and events office, and the Howard Theatre there seats 150. Parking in the college grounds is offered but depends on availability, so a booth team may need to unload and then move the van.
Old courts can mean steps, gravel and sometimes no lift at all. Mention it in your enquiry and the partner can bring a lighter setup. It's also worth asking the events office how vans get in through the gate.
Balls and big formal nights
At a ball the booth runs for hours, and the queue can get long around midnight. An open-air booth moves bigger groups through faster than a closed one.
Committees often want a custom print template with the ball's theme and date on it. Ask for that early, as the artwork needs signing off well before the night.
Think about where the booth goes, too. Under cover, close to the main walkway, and far enough from the speakers that the attendant can actually hear what guests are asking.
Weddings just outside the city
Madingley Hall, which belongs to the University of Cambridge, sits a few miles west of the centre with gardens laid out by Capability Brown. It doesn't let outside caterers into the Hall, though it takes a limited number of marquee weddings using suppliers from its approved list. Check early whether that list covers booths too.
Childerley Long Barn at Dry Drayton is the other way to go, a big barn with gardens for drinks and outdoor ceremonies. Barns give you height and space, so a magic mirror or a booth with a full backdrop won't feel cramped.
Sorting your photo booth hire Cambridge booking
College dates fill up fast in June and again in the run of Christmas formals, so it pays to get in early. Send us the college or venue, the room, the guest numbers and when you'd like the booth open.
Booths usually include props and an attendant, and most can print or share digitally. What's in the package differs between partners, so we'll confirm it all in writing. Fill in the quote form with your ball, formal or wedding details, and attach any supplier paperwork your college has already sent you.
